Purpose Built Schools Atlanta (PBSA) is excited to announce an expanded partnership with Odyssey, a transformational academic enrichment program dedicated to empowering students on their path to college and a fulfilling career.

“This exciting collaboration aligns with PBSA’s mission to provide equity-driven, high-quality education and support to students across our network,” said Mike Davis, CEO, Purpose Built Schools Atlanta. “Together, we are working to remove barriers to academic enrichment and expand the horizons of our scholars.”

About Odyssey Atlanta
Odyssey is a dynamic, tuition-free summer program serving students from rising 1st graders to high school seniors across Metro Atlanta at the prominent Westminster campus in Buckhead. By preventing summer learning loss – often referred to as the “summer slide” – Odyssey accelerates scholars academically and prepares them for long-term success.

What began as a pilot program last summer with just 18 PBSA scholars completing the program has quickly grown into a powerful partnership. The success of that inaugural cohort inspired Odyssey and PBSA to increase enrollment for 2025.

This year’s 18 students and their new peers dove into an immersive, technology-rich curriculum. From an AI class to gaming design, from high-energy dance to engineering roller coasters, scholars combined creativity with real-world skills. The Shark Tank simulation became a highlight, as teams built their own businesses, pitched ideas, and even made a profit.

Beyond the classroom, the adventure continued. Overnight camps brought archery, bonfires, swimming, and ziplining. Weekly field trips sparked curiosity and community connection. A week-long college tour across North and South Carolina gave scholars firsthand insight into campus life, while several onsite visits from Georgia Tech, Spelman, Morehouse, and the University of Georgia deepened their sense of possibility.

In a groundbreaking moment, PBSA’s entire high school robotics team took an engineering course —bridging the gap between high school potential and college-level rigor.

“Like Purpose Built Schools Atlanta, Odyssey believes in the power of integrated, whole-child learning that nurtures both the mind and the heart,” said Kisha Stanley, Executive Director of Odyssey. “Our shared vision goes beyond academics to foster resilience, leadership, and lifelong learning. Together, we’re creating experiences that prepare scholars not just to succeed in college and careers, but to lead and contribute meaningfully in every chapter of their lives.”

This partnership is more than summer programming – it’s an investment in futures, combining college and career readiness with memorable, life-changing experiences. Together, Odyssey and PBSA are building a pipeline of confident, capable, and inspired young leaders ready to thrive in their postsecondary journeys and beyond.
