Atlanta, GA — Purpose Built Schools Atlanta (PBSA) is proud to announce the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors: Joshua Barber, Brittany Collins, and Shannon Judd. These new board members bring a wealth of experience in community development, education, and philanthropy—further strengthening PBSA’s commitment to building thriving neighborhood schools that graduate empowered change agents who create positive, long-lasting impact in their communities.

Joshua Barber, President of the South Atlanta Civic League, has been an active community leader in Historic South Atlanta for more than two decades. With a background in marketing and management and deep roots in neighborhood development, Barber brings a unique, hyper-local perspective to the board. His previous role managing Carver Market and Community Grounds demonstrates his talent for creating welcoming spaces that reflect the community’s voice and culture.

Brittany Collins is Executive Director of the Betty and Davis Fitzgerald Foundation, where she leads strategy, governance, and investments to expand access to education and mental health services across Georgia. Previously, Brittany led PAACT at GEEARS, securing a $20 million public-private investment to improve early childhood outcomes in Atlanta. She has also held leadership roles at Purpose Built Communities and OneGoal, advancing equity through place-based and systems-level strategies.

Shannon Judd currently serves as President of Integral Property Management, where she oversees a national real estate portfolio of approximately 10,000 units. A seasoned executive with a background in operations, asset management, and project development, Judd brings over a decade of leadership experience from roles at PEMCO Limited and Integral. Her expertise in affordable housing and data-driven operations will be instrumental as PBSA strives to operate strong neighborhood schools that benefit the south Atlanta community.

“We are thrilled to welcome Joshua, Brittany, and Shannon to our board,” said Mike Davis, CEO of Purpose Built Schools Atlanta. “Their diverse experiences and shared commitment to equitable education and community transformation will be critical as we continue our mission to build high performing neighborhood schools that help meet the needs of our students, families and community.”

Purpose Built Schools Atlanta partners with Atlanta Public Schools to operate three neighborhood schools—Slater Elementary School, Price Middle School, and Carver STEAM Academy—providing additional resources and high-quality academic programs so that students in south Atlanta can reach their full potential.
