We’re proud to celebrate Brooke Hancock, a graduating senior from Carver STEAM Academy whose leadership, heart and resilience have made a lasting impact.
During her four years at Carver STEAM, Brooke has led countless initiatives to uplift the school community — serving as Student Government President, making the Top 10 of her class, and dedicating over 500 hours to community service in her 30315 neighborhood. She’s been a voice for her peers on the APS Student Advisory Council, an athlete, a scholar, and a fierce advocate for mental health.
One of Brooke’s biggest accomplishments? Helping launch Atlanta Public Schools’ first Mental Health Consortium, securing $10,000 in resources to support student storytelling and holistic care. Her leadership earned her the APS Trailblazer Award, and her legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
When she looks back, Brooke says her favorite memories are Homecoming and Spirit Weeks, when the whole school came together to celebrate pride and community. She’s most proud of creating a foundation where students feel empowered to speak up and drive change.
Brooke’s advice to her younger self:
“Stay true to yourself, even when others try to put you in a box.”
This fall, Brooke heads to Kennesaw State University to major in Cybersecurity with a minor in Marketing. She’s ready to protect, promote and pioneer — just like she’s always done.
Congratulations, Brooke! Your future is as bold and bright as you are.
